Arrival

When do I have to be in Spain?

You must arrive in Spain the week prior to the start of classes in order to participate in our Welcome Session.

Will the university provide transportation from the airport?

If arrival at the airport and transportation to the city is a concern, please contact the International Relations office so we may place you in contact with your 360 buddy who can assist you with arrival questions you may have.

When does the Welcome Session take place?

The Welcome Session takes place the week before classes begin.

Do I need to have a Spanish proficiency?

Yes. Students in the Dual degree program must obtain a B2 level of Spanish before graduation.

 

Will I have to register for classes online?

No. Courses are selected for you therefore there is no need to follow our regular registration process. The responsibility of the student is to turn in any inital documentation we may request in the spring prior to arrival.

 

Will I have a meal plan?

No. Students can eat on-campus in our cafeteria however there are no meal plans offered at the university. Students can purchase their lunches directly at the counter or bring their lunches and utilize microwaves located in the cafeteria to reheat food.

 

Will there be residence halls?

No. Our university does not offer living arrangements through the school. The International Relations office can assist students in finding a living arrangement however, it is the student’s responsibility to confirm the arrangement.

 

How much will my living expenses be?

While every student’s situation is different, we have found students can expect monthly expenses to be 600€ per month including housing.

 

Is there a school shuttle?

Yes. There is a shuttle connecting students from the arrival metro stop to the school however there is no shuttle from the city to the metro, students will be responsible for this part of the travel.

 

How do I arrive to the school campus?

From the city center, students can take the metro to the designated metro stop. From the metro stop, there is a school shuttle that will take students to the campus.

 

What transportation can I find in Seville and is there a student card?

In Seville, residents can make use of the public buses, trams, and metro lines. Additionally, there is a bike service called Sevici. There are student and other transportation cards that the city offers. For more information, please visit the Tussam city transportation site.

 

How do I pay my tuition to Universidad Loyola Andalucía?

Tuition is paid to your home university, please contact your home university to understand the terms of your tuition.

 

Are there any scholarships available?

Universidad Loyola Andalucía does not offer any scholarships.

 

Can I participate in work-study?

There are no work-study opportunities available at this time.

Why is my Visa only valid for 3 months?

This is because students are required to obtain a residence card once in Spain. Further instructions are listed in the When Arriving section.

 

Will I need any of the documents that I used to obtain my Visa?

Yes, it is highly recommended you bring copies of all documents the consulate required for your visa.

 

What is an Apostille?

An Apostille is a form of notarization. For Federal Background checks, this requires the requested background check be sent back to the Bureau in Washington to obtain this notary. For state checks, the corresponding reports must be sent to the necessary state departments.
