Abstract

Starting from the acknowledged factum of the inadequacy of school learning - in particular, from the deficient social and moral education, based on a weak consideration of others and a lack of education of wanting -, we carry out a rationale of the new teaching methodologies that allows us to attribute their success to the appropriate explanatory factors; namely, the fact that they assume the primordial aspect of human nature: its constitutive relationality, its reference to others. From this perspective, the "method problem" in current teaching -the mediocrity of some ways of making knowledge available to the learner- is addressed, analyzing how the new methodological approaches represent an advance in the understanding of how human beings learn, because they make possible essential learning that was not previously addressed in a structured or formal way.
