I am a social science researcher with a strong commitment to Development Studies and Gender Studies, working at the intersection of research, policy, and practice. My work engages with development debates through an interdisciplinary lens, informed by political science, economic development, and feminist anthropology. My research places particular emphasis on the production of situated knowledge through fieldwork, ethnography, and qualitative and mixed methodologies. I focus on the analysis of social practices, norms, and meanings, as well as on the material conditions of life in development contexts. Empirically, my work addresses issues such as menstrual health, education, food security, gender-based violence, climate adaptation, migration, and the reproduction of social inequalities, with a sustained attention to gender relations and social norms. I currently conduct my research at Fundación ETEA – Institute for Development of Loyola University Andalusia, where I participate in and lead applied research projects that combine scientific production with direct engagement in development processes. I have served as Principal Investigator in several research projects in Honduras, focusing on local economic development, social inequalities, child labor, gender-based violence, climate adaptation, and migration, systematically integrating a gender perspective into project design and analysis. I hold a PhD in Development Studies (gender specialization) from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), within the Department of Social Anthropology, and I have prior academic training in Political Science and Development Economics. I am a member of the research groups Development Studies (GED) and LoyolaBehLAB at Loyola University Andalusia. My work has been published in indexed national and international scientific journals. Since December 2022, I have been Managing Editor of World Food Policy and a member of the Organizing Committee of the 1st International Conference on Food Policy (Seville, 2026).
