Mojtaba Eliassi was born in Ghaemshahr, Iran, in 1984. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Tarbiat Modares University of Tehran in 2009 and 2014, respectively. From 2006 to 2016, he worked at Iran Power System Engineering Research Center (IPSERC), eventually as a Senior Researcher. With more than 10 years of academic and industrial experience, he has contributed significantly in multiple research and industrial projects on DG and renewable resources integration, modelling, static and dynamic studies of large real power systems, transmission and generation planning and operations, power system reliability, and electricity markets, which were carried out by multiple softwares, mostly DIgSILENT Power Factory and MATLAB and in association with Iranian Ministry of Energy, Iran Grid Management Co., Tavanir, Regional Transmission and Distribution Companies and some other private companies.
His research interests span DG and renewable energy integration, uncertainty modelling, large system modelling and simulation, applied mathematics for electric power systems, power system reliability assessment, power system planning and operations studies, electricity markets, single and multi-objective optimization, and mathematical programming and stochastic optimization.
