Pablo Ferrada Martínez es profesor e investigador del Departamento de Ingeniería de la Universidad Loyola Andalucía y dorma parte del Instituto de Investigación Loyola Energía, Tecnologia y Sustentabilidad (LETS). Es Doctor en Física Aplicada por la Universidad de Konstanz, Alemania (2012), Máster en Simulación Numérica en Ciencia e Ingeniería con COMSOL Multiphysics por la Universidad de Málaga (2021) e Ingeniero Civil en Electricidad por la Universidad de Santiago de Chile (2008). Su trayectoria internacional integra física aplicada, energía solar, ciencia de materiales y modelización multifísica. Inició su carrera investigadora en el International Solar Energy Research Center Konstanz (ISC Konstanz), donde desarrolló su tesis doctoral y trabajó en la fabricación y caracterización de células solares de silicio de alta eficiencia. Posteriormente se incorporó a la Universidad de Antofagasta, Chile, como investigador postdoctoral, Profesor Asistente y Profesor Asociado. En 2024 fue Profesor Ayudante Doctor en la Facultad de Matemáticas de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid y, desde enero de 2025, desarrolla su actividad en la Universidad Loyola Andalucía.Su investigación se centra en la modelización y optimización de sistemas energéticos, la física y tecnología de células y dispositivos solares, la caracterización de materiales fotovoltaicos, la radiación solar y el estudio del rendimiento, degradación y ensuciamiento de módulos fotovoltaicos en condiciones extremas. Sus trabajos combinan experimentación, simulación numérica y métodos de optimización, con aplicaciones en semiconductores, almacenamiento energético y procesos físicos de interés biotecnológico. Ha participado en ocho proyectos competitivos financiados por organismos de España, Chile y Alemania. Fue investigador responsable de dos proyectos FONDECYT de la Agencia Nacional de Investigación y Desarrollo de Chile y participó en iniciativas como SERC Chile, AtaMoS-TeC y SolarChilD. En AtaMoS-TeC dirigió un paquete de trabajo sobre módulos fotovoltaicos adaptados al desierto de Atacama. Es autor o coautor de más de 30 publicaciones científicas indexadas en JCR. En octubre de 2025 contaba con 1007 citas y un índice h de 16 en Google Scholar, y con 684 citas y un índice h de 14 en Scopus. Su producción incluye 15 artículos en revistas del primer cuartil y 11 en revistas del segundo cuartil. Además, es coinventor de dos patentes registradas en Alemania relacionadas con la fabricación de células solares. Su experiencia docente abarca Física, Matemáticas, Métodos Numéricos, Electromagnetismo, Energía Solar y Modelización de Sistemas Físicos en programas de grado, máster y doctorado. Ha dirigido y codirigido tesis doctorales y trabajos fin de estudios, y ha participado en actividades de transferencia y divulgación científica. Sus líneas actuales conectan la física aplicada, la ingeniería energética y la simulación computacional para desarrollar tecnologías energéticas más eficientes y sostenibles.
