Mi investigación se centra en la biología mitocondrial del músculo esquelético, especialmente en la organización y función de los supercomplejos respiratorios y su papel en el ejercicio y la fisiopatología. Soy IP de un proyecto del Plan Nacional y he liderado líneas de investigación en fisiología celular en tejido humano y modelos experimentales en el marco de colaboraciones internacionales. He publicado 48 artículos en revistas indexadas, 17 como autor de correspondencia en revistas Q1 JCR, y he dirigido una tesis doctoral. Cuento con un índice H de 17 (WOS) y soy Executive Editor del Journal of Physiology and Biochemistry (Q1 JCR).
