Research at the service of society

One of the long-standing aims of Universidad Loyola is to become a Doctoral Research University - in accordance with the definition of the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching - in social sciences and technology. Loyola wants to be a University that is not only recognised for the quality of its education, but also for the breadth, importance, significance and impact of its research on the areas where it focuses its activities: basic, applied, disciplinary and interdisciplinary research. Internationally recognised scientific research is therefore essential for our university community. The scientific output of our researchers and the 17 multidisciplinary research teams that are currently active and form a vital part of our research community is a reflection of our response to that need. The many aims of Universidad Loyola include the creation and transmission of knowledge, and so one of our callings is to play a part in fulfilling the 17 Sustainable Development Goals that form part of the 2030 Agenda. Universidad Loyola's commitment to create a humane, just and respectful world is expressed through its research, development, innovation and transfer of knowledge.
