Abstract

The article 9.2 of the Spanish Constitution, which proposes the intervention of authorities in Economy and Society, is linked with the principle of Social State established by the article 1.1 of the Spanish Magna Carta. This article 9.2 is a complex rule that might lead to various interpretations, and for that reason an historical and systematic study is required in order to understand it properly. This article founds its inspiration on the article 3.2 of the Italian Constitution and might be considered as a belated product of the so-called "afterward period socialdemocratic consensus". The present work, then, tries to provide the necessary previous materials for a further and deeper study of the content of the article 9.2 and its virtual potentialities.
