The DENORI project was an initiative of the ODS research group at Loyola University, aimed at improving agricultural irrigation efficiency through the implementation of an advanced system for the automatic detection and notification of irrigation leaks.
By combining a network of IoT devices, satellite remote sensing, and artificial intelligence algorithms, the project sought to significantly reduce water losses in agriculture, contributing to a more sustainable and efficient use of natural resources.
For its development, an Operational Group was established, bringing together academic and agricultural institutions: Loyola University Andalucía, University of Huelva, Trifolium Farms, and ASAJA Sevilla, with funding from the Regional Ministry of Agriculture of the Andalusian Government.
The system was deployed in a 600-hectare citrus farm in Huelva, and the results demonstrated its feasibility and potential for application in other irrigated crops.
