Analysis of development processes, policies and instruments

The Development Studies Group (GED) is a multidisciplinary group consisting of researchers from the economics, social sciences and legal areas ofUniversidad Loyola. With a history dating back more than three decades that continues the legacy of ETEA, the research group promotes high scientific-, social- and political-impact research in a strand characterised by its commitment to and centrality in the University’s mission.

The research group undertakes studies and research on a wide spectrum of topics specific to the field of area studies, such as rural development, development education, the impact of international cooperation, analysis of global governance, regionalism and the design of international institutions. It also analyses and proposes instruments for development cooperation.

The scientists have set themselves the goal of continuing to explore and generate scientific knowledge in these and other strands in the field of development-related social sciences. They seeks, likewise, to collaborate and initiate a dialogue with other scientific disciplines currently represented at our University with which thematic and methodological synergies might be achieved.
