Ana Mercedes Lopez Rodriguez holds a PhD in law from the University of Aarhus (Denmark) and law degree from the University of Seville. She is a tenured professor of Private International Law, Comparative Law and Arbitration at Universidad Loyola Andalucia. Since 2013 she has been accredited by the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA) as a Tenured Associate Professor of Private International Law (profesora titular de Derecho internacional privado acreditada por la ANECA ). Ana also holds a tenured position as senior legal manager of the Andalusian Regional Administration (funcionaria de carrera del Cuerpo Superior de Administradores Generales de la Junta de Andalucía; currently on leave). Ana has had a number of academic positions at the University of Aarhus, University of Seville and Universidad Loyola Andalucia, where she has been Head of the Law Department. She participated at the EC Socrates Intensive Programme as visiting professor at LUISS –Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali (Rome)– and Université François-Rabelais (Tours). In addition, she has been a visiting scholar at Loyola University Chicago School of Law. Ana’s research and teaching interests are in international commercial and investment arbitration, private international law, international sales, comparative law, EU law and legal tech. She speaks several languages, including Danish, English and German. Ana has authored numerous books and articles. Her research has been published with internationally recognized publishers such as Wolters Kluwer and Brill and in high impact journals, such as Transnational Environmental Law, the Brooklyn Journal ofInternational Law , the Journal of International Arbitration and the Nordic Journal of International Law, to mention a few. For several years, Ana coached the Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot team from the University of Aarhus. Currently, she coordinates the ADR curriculum at Universidad Loyola Andalucia Full-time Master in Law programmes. Ana has experience as an independent arbitrator in international cases and has been selected to the Asociación para el Ejercicio de la Mediación y el Arbitraje (ASEMARB) roster of arbitrators. She regularly acts as a reviewer for international legal journals and research funds (such as the Austrian Research Fund ). She has also substantial expertise in the elaboration of legal reports for law firms, public authorities and private parties in Denmark, the UK, Spain and Finland.
