I am an Assistant Professor (Profesor Ayudante Doctor) at Universidad Loyola Andalucía working at the interface of developmental biology and genome engineering. My research focuses on optimizing CRISPR-Cas technologies for in vivo applications and studying early development and the maternal-to-zygotic transition in zebrafish. I obtained my PhD in Biotechnology from Universidad Pablo de Olavide (International Mention, Cum Laude), where I investigated virulence mechanisms in the phytopathogen Ustilago maydis . During my postdoctoral training, funded by the Margarita Salas mobility program, I further developed CRISPR-based tools for RNA regulation and functional genomics in Neuroscience Institute (CSIC-UMH) in Alicante and Andalusian Centre of Developmental Biology (CSIC-UPO) in Seville. I have authored eight Q1 publications, participating in six funded research projects, and actively combine research and dissemination (>25 contributions in national and international conferences and courses) with university teaching in Genetics and Biotechnology.
