Ha realizado dos doctorados, uno asociado al Programa de Gestión Económica por la Universidad de Sevilla, obtenido en 2010, y un segundo al Programa Conjunto de Doctorado en Sistemas de Energía Eléctrica por las Universidades de Sevilla, Málaga, País Vasco y la Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, obtenido en 2020. Ambos fueron calificados con nota sobresaliente Cum Laude. Las investigaciones en las que ha trabajado se engloban dentro del campo de la ingeniería eléctrica, especialmente en aspectos relacionados con la integración de recursos de energias distribuidos en la red eléctrica.Es autor de de 28 articulos de investigación, de los cuales 25 han sido publicados en revistas internacionales indexadas con factor JCR, todos muy relevantes, 6 en Primer Cuartil (Q1) y 19 en Segundo Cuartil (Q2) . Además es autor de 3 capitulos de libros, todos ellos publicados por la editorial Springer. Adicionalemente, ha realizado tres contribuciones en congresos científicos de prestigio internacional. La relevancia y continuidad del impacto de la producción científica se refleja en su índice h, con un valor de 16 reportado tanto por SCOPUS como por Web of Science (WoS)Ha participado en doce proyectos de investigación , ocho de ellos de larga duración. Siete proyectos de investigación fueron concedidos en convocatorias nacionales del Plan nacional de I+D+I, y cinco en convocatorias autonómicas de Proyectos de Excelencia de la Junta de Andalucía. La participación en ellos ha sido como investigador colaborador en nueve proyectos, becario en prácticas en uno, y contratado para actividades técnicas asociadas a la investigación en dos, asumiendo además la función de Investigador principal en uno de ellos. Asismismo , ha sido tutor de una Tesis Doctoral en colaboración internacional con el Despartamento de Economía de la University G. D’Annunzio, Chieti-Pescara, ItaliaLa Comisión Nacional Evaluadora de la Actividad Investigadora (CNEAI) le reconoció dos sexenio de investigación, correspondiente a los periodos 2010-2018 y 2019-2024 en las convocatorias de 2018 y 2024, respectivamente. Actualmente, está acreditado como Profesor Titular de Universidad por la ANECA.
