Mario Wenning holds a PhD from The New School for Social Research (New York), with earlier studies in Canada (Montreal) and Germany (Münster). Working within the Critical Theory tradition, his research spans social, political, and environmental philosophy. A former Humboldt Research Fellow at Goethe University Frankfurt, he has held academic appointments in China and Japan before relocating to Spain. He co-organizes the global research network Nature–Time–Responsibility and is currently investigating contemporary Chinese political philosophy with support from the Volkswagen Stiftung.
