Comencé mi labor investigadora durante el curso 2013/2014 mediante una beca de colaboración concedida por el MECD en la Universidad de Córdoba, y en concreto con el grupo de investigación AYRNA. Graduado en Ingeniería Informática con Mención en Computación en julio de 2014, con premio al mejor expediente académico por la Universidad de Córdoba. Máster en Ingeniería Informática en febrero de 2016, con premio al mejor expediente académico y premio al mejor expediente académico de la macroárea de Ingeniería y Arquitectura por la Universidad de Córdoba. Tras ser contratado predoctoral FPU realizando la tesis titulada "Minería de Datos en Series Temporales: procesamiento, análisis, segmentación y predicción. Aplicaciones." obtuve el Grado de Doctor en Computación Avanzada en 2019 con la calificación de Sobresaliente Cum Laude, en la misma Universidad, recibiendo en 2020 uno de los Premios de Investigación Sociedad Científica Informática de España Fundación BBVA 2020 (Modalidad Investigadores Jóvenes Informáticos). Durante estos años he sido colaborador honorario y predoctoral impartiendo créditos ECTS en diferentes asignaturas del Grado de Ingeniería Informática (U. Córdoba) y Grado en Ingeniería Informática y Tecnologías Virtuales (U. Loyola Andalucía), y he participado activamente en seminarios y eventos de difusión científica. Además, y de forma pararela, he obtenido el título Máster en Profesorado de Enseñanza Secundaria Obligatoria y Bachillerato, Formación Profesional y enseñanza de Idiomas. Mi labor investigadora se centra en el análisis de series temporales haciendo uso de metaheurísticas basadas en algoritmos bioinspirados y técnicas de Machine Learning. Mi especialidad es la segmentación y predicción de series temporales, aunque he desarrollado metodologías para otros fines relacionados. En total he publicado 14 artículos en revista y 14 artículos en congresos de carácter internacional/nacional. He participado en dos proyectos de investigación de ámbito nacional, en uno autonómico, en uno local y en tres proyectos de innovación docente. Cabe destacar que he realizado una estancia de investigación en la Universidad de Birmingham con una duración de tres meses. Desde agosto de 2019, ejerzo como profesor e investigador del Departamento de Métodos Cuantitativos de la Universidad Loyola Andalucía.
