Abstract

In this paper, a modulation strategy is formulated to be integrated in the model of a 5-level AC-DC converter. The resulting formulation is able to deals with the unbalance voltage problem generated in the dc-link. Such modulation strategy can be calculated offline and the solution can be stored as a multidimensional array for its use during the online operation. The effectiveness and good performance of the converter under the proposed control approach is validated by simulation results.
