Abstract

This article examines the relations between the United States and Africa from the economic, political and security points of view. These three fields are interdependent, but at the same time highly dynamic, both because of US political inertia, Africa's own conditioning factors (development deficit, poverty, insecurity or political instability) and the international context. In this last aspect, the Russian invasion of Ukraine or the emergence of China's military ambitions are of particular relevance, as both countries are competing with the United States for a better position on the African continent. © UNISCI, 2022.
