Social concern about the possible effects of children's exposure to television products is based on the observation of the socializing force of a media with a high capacity to impose its standards over those of the families themselves. This article aims to disseminate the results of a qualitative study intended to investigate pragmatic dissonance, or the inconsistencies of parents when mediating their children's use of television.
