From the beginnings of the XXth Century there have been endeavours to transform the Church into an evangelizing Church. The difficulty in attaining this is to be found in the fact that before evangelizing, the Church must let itself be evangelized. The next Synod of Bishops on the “new evangelization” is an opportune moment to pose ourselves the question what it means evangelization, which are its conditions, and which are the accents that must be stressed today, in order to bring about a Church that is in a state of mission.; Desde comienzos del siglo XX existen intentos por convertir a la Iglesia en una Iglesia evangelizadora. La dificultad para ello se encuentra en que antes de evangelizar, la Iglesia ha de dejarse evangelizar. El próximo sínodo de obispos sobre la “nueva evangelización” es un momento oportuno para plantear qué significa evangelización, cuáles son sus condiciones y cuáles deben ser los acentos que hay que subrayar hoy para conseguir una Iglesia en estado de misión.
