With a Ph.D. in \'Risk Management Tools for Wind Generators,\' he embarked on an enriching journey by joining the prestigious FP7 EUROPEAN PROJECT \'SiNGULAR\' through a postdoctoral fellowship at Portugal\'s Universidade da Beira Interior. This opportunity allowed him to expand his expertise in "New Strategies of Renewable Energy Production and Storage Systems to Offer Competitive Energy in Electricity Markets." In this role, he successfully developed and evaluated novel mathematical algorithms to manage risks associated with renewable sources, culminating in strategic biddings. Driven by his passion for electricity markets, risk management, renewable energy sources, optimization, forecasting, distribution systems, and renewable expansion planning, he pursued a six-month research position at \'ABENGOA RESEARCH Ltd.,\' a renowned research company. This valuable international experience propelled him to become a researcher in a regional project at Spain\'s University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM), focusing on the \'Integration of Wind Energy in the Electric Energy System.\' Here, he applied robust optimization, decomposition techniques, and expansion planning methodologies. Additionally, he contributed to a collaborative venture between UCLM and GAS NATURAL SDG, Co., investigating the effects of renewable energy on the Spanish day-ahead electricity market prices. Continuing his research career, he participated in the prestigious European project \'E-Regio,\' which received funding from ERA-Net Smart Grid Plus and Horizon 2020. This project involved collaboration with renowned Dutch universities, including the Eindhoven University of Technology and Utrecht University. The E-Regio project aimed to design local markets, develop smart grids, promote distributed production and energy storage, and explore innovative business models. Notably, he contributed to the implementation and evaluation of these new markets within a utility company in Norway and a local system operator start-up in Sweden. He was also a senior research specialist at the esteemed Universidad Loyola Andalucía in Seville, Spain. In this role, he actively collaborated on two H2020 European projects, demonstrating his leadership skills by managing large research teams and leading proposal development as a Principal Investigator (PI). Notably, he has acquired substantial international teaching experience and the ability to supervise Master and Ph.D. guest students. He has delivered courses on operations research and energy conversion technologies in Portugal and the Netherlands, respectively, further enhancing his international profile. Overall, with an impressive background encompassing advanced research, multidisciplinary collaborations, and a commitment to academic excellence, he is an ideal fit for any collaboration seeking expertise in electricity markets, power system optimization, and renewable energy solutions. ----- Collaborator in Projects (12): Interrface, Flexitranstore, E-Regio, Report on the Effect of Renewable Energy on the Spanish Day-Ahead Electricity Market Prices, Integration of Wind Energy in Electric Energy Systems, Power Analysis, Simgen, PVsincrona, Offshore2grid, Smart Solar Plant, SiNGULAR, and Risk Management Tools for Wind Generators. ----- Publications (41), awards (4), and committees (2). - 15 Journals. - 26 Conferences and seminars. - 4 Awards. - 2 Scientific and program committees. ----- Awards 1) 13rd International Congress on Project Engineering.
