Abstract The study seeks to analyse the capacity of graphic design to improve students’ initial attitude to reading scientific articles. The research uses as the independent variable the visual configuration of these texts, based on various visual categories (typographic personality, legibility, contrast and composition) that are used to design ad hoc five pairs of items and, as the dependent variable, the preference. Using a methodology based on a panel of experts and a quantitative survey, the conclusions reveal an important link between the quality of graphic design of the articles and the user acceptance. © 2024 Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona.
