After completing his doctorate inCounseling Psychology at the University of Florida (Gainesville, FL), he workedfrom 2005 to 2016 in the Psychology department at Duquesne University(Pittsburgh, PA), first as an Assistant Professor and then as a TenuredAssociate Professor. At Duquesne, he founded the Psychological Services forSpanish-Speakers – a free, community-based, mental health clinic forunauthorized Latino migrants. In 2014, he served as President of the APA Society Qualitative for Qualitative Inquiry in Psychology (Div. 5). He wasamong the founders of the Association for European Qualitative Researchersin Psychology and the Qualitative Inquiry in Psychology group at theInternational Congress of Qualitative Inquiry. Marco engages in research throughcritical, constructionist, discursive, and relational epistemologies andontologies. His publications mostly concern qualitative methodologies, culturalstudies, and the intersection of psychosocial processes, narratives, cultures,and governmentality to allow for specific possibilities, subjectivities, andontologies of becoming for migrants and ethnic minorities as well as forpractitioners working with these populations.  He is especially interested in engaging with narrativeinquiry, Foucaultian discourse analysis, and critical feminist epistemologies to understand the forces,constructions, and affects that inform the agentic formation and the subjectivationof migrants and minorities.
