Abstract |
Young people are a critical audience for social media and platforms. Simultaneously, UNESCO emphasises the importance of involving this demographic segment to achieve the 2030 Agenda. Teen series could be a tool to raise awareness about the Agenda and engage this audience. This article examines how the Agenda is introduced into the teen series\' creative process. A thematic analysis of in-depth interviews with audiovisual industry professionals was conducted. The findings emphasise the market\'s influence on content creation, perpetuating already successful patterns. Furthermore, scriptwriters have differing views over the potential educational impact of series. In conclusion, despite youth audiences\' potential to drive change, limited awareness of the 2030 Agenda hinders this impact. Fostering alignment between scriptwriters, education, public policies, associations, but also channels and platforms is crucial for integrating the Agenda into audiovisual content. This study aims to discuss the audiovisual industry and the interplay between culture, sustainability, education and policies. |
