Pilar Campoy Muñoz obtuvo su licenciatura en Administración y Dirección de Empresas en el año 2005 y completó su formación académica con un Máster en Métodos de Investigación en Ciencias Económicas y Empresariales (2011). A continuación, desarrolló su tesis doctoral que finalizó en 2013, obteniendo la máxima calificación. Su tesis consistió en el desarrollo de una metodología basada en técnicas de Economía Computacional e Inteligencia Artificial aplicándose a la estimación de un tipo de flujo monetario internacional como es las remesas de inmigrantes. Lleva vinculada a la investigación científica desde 2006 cuando obtuvo una beca para investigación en la Dirección General de Planificación de la Consejería de Economía y Hacienda (Junta de Andalucía) para el diseño e implementación de un sistema de indicadores para la evaluación de planes económicos. Posteriormente, ha sido Titulado Superior de Apoyo a la Investigación en un proyecto de la Universidad Pablo de Olavide (2007-2009) desarrollando el sistema de indicadores para la evaluación del Plan Económico Andalucía S. XXI. Tras su paso por la empresa privada, se incorporó a la Universidad Loyola Andalucía en 2011 (denominada hasta 2012 como ETEA- Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y Empresariales- Centro adscrito a la Universidad de Córdoba) donde actualmente está contratada como Profesora Adjunta. Además ha realizado estancias de investigación en Regional Economics Applications Laboratory de la Universidad de Illinois (Estados Unidos) en 2015, para perfeccionar los conocimientos sobre la Modelización multisectorial, en Lisbon Institute of Global Mental Health de la Universidad Nueva de Lisboa (Portugal) en 2017, en el marco del proyecto REFINEMENT-ESPAÑA, financiado por el Instituto de Salud Carlos III, y en la Australian National University (Australia) en el marco de la ayuda de movilidad Jose Castillejo. Actualmente participa como investigadora en el proyecto ". Atlas de Adicciones de España", es Co-IP del proyecto "Estimación del impacto económico y social de los trastornos mentales comunes en España", financiado por el Instituto de Salud Carlos III, e investigadora en el proyecto Evaluación de la eficiencia técnica relative de pequeñas áreas sanitarias en salud mental en la Comunidad Autónoma de Andalucía (Salud Mental), financiado por la Junta de Andalucía. Su investigación se centra en el desarrollo y la aplicación de diversas metodologías a problemas socioeconómicos, tanto metodologías basadas en técnicas de inteligencia artificial, como metodologías basadas en modelos Equilibrio General Computable.
