Seville, July 24th, 2023 Guillermo Bejarano Pellicer completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Seville in 2009, achieving the End of Degree Award. Then he was engaged as an associate researcher between 2009 and 2012 in various R&D projects related to networked control systems. He worked within the Automation, Control, and Robotics Research Group (TEP-201), under the guidance of Professor D. Francisco Rodríguez Rubio. Later, he was also engaged between 2013 and 2019 in diverse R&D projects on thermal and cooling energy management under the guidance of Professor Manuel Gil Ortega Linares. He gained his Master\'s degree in Automatic Control, Robotics, and Telematics in 2015, also achieving the Special End of Degree Award. Between 2015 and 2017, he fulfilled the Doctoral Programme in Automation, Electronics, and Telecommunication at the University of Seville. He spent an international research internship period at the Automation and Systems Department, Federal University of Santa Catarina, Florianopolis (Brazil), under the guidance of Professor Julio Elias Normey-Rico. This research stay enabled him to achieve an Internacional PhD Mention when he graduated with honours in 2017, supporting the thesis entitled "Optimization and Multivariable Control of Refrigeration Systems", with which he achieved the Extraordinary Doctorate Award in 2019. In 2018 he spent an international post-doctoral research internship at the INESC-ID, Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon (Portugal). Throughout his research career he has published 15 papers in significant journals and 25 papers in national and international conferences, as well as obtained several awards. He was accredited in 2018 by ANECA as an Assistant Lecturer, Associate Professor, and Private University Lecturer, while in 2020 ANECA granted him a six-year research period. At this moment, he works as a researcher at the University Loyola Andalusia. His main areas of focus are smart agriculture and control of marine autonomous surface vehicles.
